Cloris Maxine Strothers, 90, of Belpre, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Born in Berea, Ritchie County, West Virginia, Cloris was a daughter of the late Harry Homer and Gladys Moore Sheets.

When she was young, Cloris enjoyed bowling. After making Rockland Ridge her home, she enjoyed watching Hallmark and WVU Football on the television, and playing cards, BINGO, and other activities with her Rockland friends.

Cloris was very thankful for the love and care she received at Rockland Ridge.

Those who remain to carry her memories include daughters, Sherry Clancey (John), and Diana Garrett (David); sons, Dana Knapp (Debbie), and Kerry Knapp (Melissa); ten grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon K. Knapp in 1998; second husband, James M. “Bill” Strothers in 2011; son, Scott Knapp; sister, Edna Campbell; and brother, Harry Sheets Jr.

Her children would like to thank the staff of Camden Clark Medical Center, 3rd Floor, for the excellent care of their mother.

Cloris had entrusted her final requests with a prearrangement at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home. In keeping with her wishes, she will be interred at Sunset Memory Gardens.
