Darlene Umpleby Pasko, 58, of Vienna, WV passed away peacefully at her home on August 4, 2015, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with numerous health problems. Darlene thoughtfully donated her body to WVU for research in hopes of helping others. She was a 1976 graduate from PHS. She went on to move to Greenlake, Wisconsin, where she worked for the American Baptist Assembly. She later moved to the Wilmington, OH area and worked at Air Borne Express, Caesar Creek Flea Market, and then for the city of New Vienna, OH at the utility department. Darlene loved playing cards with her family and friends. She enjoyed being active with Awana at Calvary Baptist Church in Wilmington. She was a gifted artist who found joy in painting beautiful pictures and ceramics. She loved the pool, sunshine, and always valued time with her family. Darlene is survived by her daughter Katie Pasko of Vienna, WV; son, Alex Pasko of Clarksville, OH; grandson, Talon Pasko of Clarksville, OH; husband, Kerry Pasko of Belpre, OH; mother, Mary Kathryn "Kay" Umpleby of Vienna, WV; four sisters, Ruth Peters of Vienna, WV, Mary Campbell (Dana) of Vienna, twin sister Charlene Farnsworth (Steve) of Boaz, Kathy Lynch (Dave) of Vienna; two brothers, Carl Umpleby (Kathy) of Freemont, CA and Paul Umpleby (Shawna) of Parkersburg; nine nieces and nephews; six great nieces and nephews; and one great-great nephew. She was preceded in death by her father, James O'Neal "Jim" Umpleby. A special thank you to Darlene's close friends, the nurses at Davita and Amedisys Hospice. A memorial service will be held at City Soul Ministries, 1101 46th Street, Vienna, WV where Darlene attended, on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. A celebration of Darlene's life will follow at the family's residence at 711 27th Street, Vienna, WV.
