Della Kay Meadows passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio. She was a lifelong resident of Belpre, Ohio, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, and a woman with a kind heart who loved people, cherished her family, and found happiness in the simple things that made life special.
Born on January 20, 1954, a daughter of the late Clarkston Samuel Day Jr. and Obeda Irene Harris Day, Della spent her life in the Belpre community, where she built a lifetime of memories and relationships. She had a special love for her children and grandchildren, family gatherings, and holidays. She enjoyed bringing family together and making memories with the people she loved. She also had a love for the beach and, of course, cats.
Della shared 43 years of her life with her lifelong partner, Clyde Campbell, who remained by her side through the years and was undoubtedly waiting for her on the other side.
Her greatest love was her family. She is survived by her two children, Christina Meadows and Gary “Will” Lockhart, both of Belpre, Ohio. She also helped raise her nephew, Johnathan Meadows, who held a special place in her heart.
She leaves behind four grandchildren, Christopher M. Meadows, Quinton A. Lockhart, Courtney Cossin, and McKayla Kay Lockhart. She is also lovingly remembered by her four great-grandchildren, Myia Meadows, Zaedyn Meadows, Carleigh Cossin, and Cohen Cossin.
Della was preceded in death by her infant granddaughter, Brittani Kay Meadows, whom she will now be reunited with.
She is survived by her twin sister, Stella M. Place, and her sister Cassandra Collins . Della was one of seven children and was preceded in death by four siblings, Anna Day Lemon, James Day, Clarkston Day, and Debra Collins.
She also leaves behind several special nieces, nephews, cousins, and many others whose lives she touched along the way.
Della’s kind heart, love for her family, and appreciation for life’s little moments will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Though her absence will leave an emptiness that can never truly be filled, the memories, laughter, family traditions, and love she shared will live on through the generations of her family.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Decatur United Methodist Church Cemetery, Decatur, Ohio.
She was loved, she will be missed, and she will never be forgotten.
