Dwain Clifton Meeks, 73, of Williamstown, W.Va. passed away unexpectedly April 1, 2016 at his residence. Dwain was born June 30, 1942 at Marietta, Ohio, a son of the late Clifton L. and Mary G. Longfellow Meeks. He and his family owned and operated the former Meeks Bakery in Vienna for many years.Dwain and his brother, Larry were among the first Master Bakers in the state.Dwain was a 1962 graduate of Williamstown High School and a Methodist by faith.He treasured spending time with his family and especially enjoyed his grandsons. Left to treasure his memory are his wife of 52 years, Sheryl Ann Covey Meeks; three sons, Jeffrey Meeks and Douglas L. Meeks (Kim), all of Williamstown, W.Va. and Scott Dwain Meeks of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one sister, Cynthia Sands of Williamstown, W.Va.; and his grandsons,Aiden and Preston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry. There will be no visitation or services at this time.Entombment and graveside services in Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown will be announced at a later date.
