On April 28, 2025, Homer Kelly Booth Jr. passed away peacefully at Milestone Senior Living in Parkersburg, West Virginia, surrounded by his loving family, and entered into the arms of his Lord and Savior.
He was born in Meigs County, Ohio, on May 26, 1931, the son of the late Homer Kelly Booth Sr. and Gertrude Jarvis Booth.
Homer was a proud United States veteran, having served honorably in both the Army and the Navy. After his military service, he lived in Texas and West Virginia, working for numerous trucking companies as a supervisor of diesel mechanics. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Grand Lodge of Texas, and the Shriners in Houston, Texas.
His favorite saying was “A poor man has poor ways.”
His life was built and his accomplishments shared with the love of his life, his wife of 70 years, Dorothy Ann Taylor Booth, who preceded him in death on May 6, 2020. They are now reunited.
Homer's legacy lives on through his children: George Booth (Judy), Brenda Coiner (Bill), Donald Booth (Valerie), and Steve Booth (Vickie); his grandchildren: Kelly Galisky, Debbie Kimble, Mike Coiner, Heather Mangold, Chris Booth, George Booth, David Booth, Stephanie Booth, and Robert Booth; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In his later years, Homer was lovingly cared for and deeply cherished by his companion, Janice Case, who spent time with him daily over the past four years.
