Janet W. Starcher

Janet W. Starcher, 88, of Parkersburg passed away at her residence on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

She was born in Walton, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Okey and Ruby Hammack Wright.

Janet had worked for the state as a legal secretary and was a co-owner of Sound Rental Service. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, antiquing, and knitting and she loved to cook and bake.

She is survived by her loving son, Larry W. Starcher and his wife, Beth of Parkersburg, and her beloved cat, Mimi.

In addition to her parents Janet was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Foster “Smiley” Starcher in 1998; daughter, Deanna Lea Starcher; infant son, Gregory Starcher; and her brother, Gerald Wright.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Leeson officiating. Services will conclude with interment in Sunset Memory Gardens. The Starcher family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
