Joshua Neal McVey

Joshua Neal McVey, 42, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at home.

He was born in Parkersburg, son of Johnny Howard Calhoun and the late Darlene Kay McVey.

Josh had a huge heart, loved his family, and would help anyone. His free spirit, fun nature, and hilarious ways surrounded him with numerous friends. People like Josh “love hard”, which is a rare combination. He leaves his fingerprints everywhere.

Josh and his sister, Johnna Nicole McVey, grew up very close and were best friends, part of her heart is now gone.

Johnna will cherish his memory along with many loved ones, including his father; his daughter, Bentley Renee McVery; his step-brother, Patrick Gruber; his aunt, Kathy Pulliam; his uncle, Dennis McVey (Barb); his niece, Mariah Jane Mulinex; his nephew, Jacob McVey; his close friends, Brent Sidwell and Christopher Starcher; and numerous others who cared for Josh.

In addition to his mother, Josh was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Betty Harrison Calhoun; maternal grandmother, Clara Adams McVey; and uncles, Mike McVey, Roger McVey and Daniel McVey.

Memorial services will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2026, at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home. His family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
