Kevin Lee Smith

Kevin Lee Smith, 72, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away at Camden Clark Medical Center on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, under the devoted care of Amedisys Hospice.

He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, an adopted son of Emmett and Pearl Marshall Miracle.

Kevin served on the Advisory Board and was a speaker for People First of West Virginia, a project of The Arc of the Mid-Ohio Valley. An interview with Kevin was conducted about the history of People First in West Virginia and is available for viewing at this link: History of People First.

His family included sisters, Virginia Smith (Phil) and Mary Louise Vest (Tim); niece, Michelle Turner; significant other, Darla Ervin; great nieces, Katelyn Turner, Jennifer Turner, and Erica Titler (Ben); one great-great nephew, Theodore Titler; and several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Kevin was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Ann Smith; second wife, Karen Sue Smith; great-nephew, Gage Turner; and many foster siblings.

Kevin prearranged his final wishes with Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home and in keeping with his requests there will be no public visitation or service.
