Mary Ellen “Punk” Smith, 66, of Belleville, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025.
She was born November 10, 1958, in Parkersburg, to the late Donald Eugene and Gladys Auline Moore Flinn.
Punk was a 1977 graduate from Parkersburg South High School, she worked with her parents at the Flinn Carry-out in Belleville. She also served on the Belleville Homecoming Board.
Her main focus was on being a homemaker and raising her children. She loved spending time with her family, especially spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Don Hanley, of Belleville; daughter, Tracy Smith; two sons, Joe Smith (Erin) and Jim Smith (Brittany); chosen son, Steven Lee (Jess); step-daughters, Jessica Mills and Cristy Flinn (Chris); ten grandchildren, Morgan, Brody, Shanda, Payton, Colby, Kylee, Jake, Kinsley, Cailyn, and Carson; two great-grandchildren coming soon; two sisters, Nancy Carpenter and Judy Lemon (Mark); sister-in-law, Myra Flinn; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Darrell Flinn.
Per Punk’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or service. Her family will honor her with a private memorial. Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home has been entrusted to assist with final arrangements.
