Rita Rae Ryan

Rita Rae Ryan, 66, of Belpre, Ohio passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack Friday, February 5, 2016 at Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born October 13, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio, the only child of the late Archie B. and Dorothy Brook Easley Hayes. Rita was a 1967 graduate of Belpre High School and received her education degree from Glenville State College.She was a retired educator with 43 years of service with Wood County Schools.She was an avid bridge player and reader; an Ohio State football fanatic; and most recently was enjoying life with her husband, Jim, on their farm. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, James L. “Jim” Ryan; and her beloved dogs, Popeye, Buddy and Roxy. In honoring Rita’s wishes, there will be no services and she will be interred in Rockland Cemetery beside her parents. Her final act of kindness was fulfilled as an organ donor in hopes of helping others. For those considering an expression of sympathy, memorials are preferred to the Humane Society of Parkersburg or the Mid Ohio Valley or to the Make A Wish Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Avenue, Parkersburg, W.Va.
