Ronald Alden Martin, 92, of Port Charlotte, Florida, a devoted servant of the Lord whose life was marked by love as a husband, father, proud “PawPaw,” brother, and dear friend passed peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Solaris Healthcare in Charlotte Harbor, entering into his heavenly reward.

Ronald was born on September 16, 1933, in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Harry A. and Gertude (Bond) Martin. He lived in Belpre, Ohio for 30 years, he was U.S. Army veteran. He worked as a union asbestos insulator for Local 80 in Charleston, West Virginia. This year he would have received his 75-year pin from the union. He retired to Port Charlotte, Florida in 1984.

He took great pleasure in collecting pocketknives and firearms, and he spent much of his free time out on his motorcycle or tinkering away in his shed. He was an avid volunteer and spokesperson for the Shriners and Gideons. Wherever he went, he shared the Gospel, passed out Bibles, offered hope and encouragement, and formed lasting bonds and friendships. Ever generous with his wisdom, he left a deep imprint on many lives. Though our hearts grieve his absence, we find comfort in knowing he is now with the Lord he served so faithfully.

Survived by his loving family, wife, Martha Jean Martin of Port Charlotte, FL; two daughters, Janelle (Wade) Martin of Port St. Lucie, FL, Cheryl (Craig) Kolakowski of Jensen Beach, FL; three sons, Timothy (Cathy) Martin of Spotsylvania, Virginia, Richard (Katherine) Pra of Highlands Ranch, CO, and Robert Pra of Port Charlotte, FL, Two sisters, Winnie Rainbow of Liverpool, New York and Nancy McMillian of South Point, Ohio.

His legacy also includes ten grandchildren, Nick (Paige) Martin, Jill (Justin) Hanley, Katlyn (Josh) Trimmer, Jessica Wright, Jeff (Betty) Sutton, Dakota (Jessica) Miller, Amanda Kolakowski, Matthew Kolakowski, Lauren Kolakowski and Jillian Kolakowski; eleven great grandsons, J ’Andre White, Trevian White, Jevin White, Kayden Wright, Jhalil Wright, Dakota James Miller, Maddox Miller, Braydon Miller, Troy Hanley, Cooper Hanley and Gabriel Miller; six great granddaughters, Aria Trimmer, Carolynn Miller, Zaylee Sutton, Zuri Sutton, Zenna Sutton and Madison Miller and two great great grandchildren Xavier White and Serenity White and many nieces and nephews.
