Sandy Feick

It is with a heavy heart we announce the untimely passing of our sweet Sandy Feick.Sandy died suddenly in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 12th, 2016 at her home here in Parkersburg. Sandra Kay Leeson was born in Parkersburg . She was the daughter of Leroy Clifford and Iva Leona Fluharty Leeson who have preceded her in death. Sandy was the beloved mother of Howard O. Feick III of Parkersburg. When we recall Sandy it will always be with a smile.Feisty, generous, and thoughtful, Sandy hated prejudice against anyone. Her life was not always easy, but she seemed to always step up to the plate.A kind and noble spirit, Sandy always looked after the stray animals she encountered throughout her life.She had a great fondness for Clancy, her mother’s dog and her many feline friends she adopted along the way. We could write volumes.But rather, simply remember, that we pass this way but once.Let us hope that we leave this world with a legacy of kindness as Sandy did. In addition to her son, Sandy was the dear sister of Mrs. Paul (Sharon) Nichols , Leroy Leeson and Mrs. Dan (Christy) Poole.She was the fond sister-in-law of Cindy Gorrell, Kathy Craven and Candace Cain.Sandy leaves to cherish her memory her dear companion, Chris Wetzel and his family, among them his mother, Lynne Groves.Sandy had many friends.Among them was Lillian Blankenship of Beckley, “Mrs. B” passed away several years ago, and now, “Oh Glad Reunion.” The Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 16th at 1:00 pm at the Vaughan Funeral Home, 1010 Murdoch Ave., Parkersburg. Fr. George Nedeff of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church will be officiating.Sandy will lie in repose on Friday evening from six to eight pm at Vaughan’s and one hour prior to the services on Saturday.The rosary will be recited at 8:00 pm on Friday evening.Sandy will be laid to rest at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery. And the words, “Sleep In Heavenly Peace,” will have such a different meaning this coming Mother’s Day. Arrangements are by the Melton Mortuary in Beckley, WV.A special thanks to the Vaughan Funeral Home from Melton Mortuary for lending their time and facilities to Sandy’s family.
