Virgil Wayne Amos, 67, of Belleville, West Virginia, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, at home.
Born in Parkersburg, on May 20, 1958, he was one of four children of the late William Virgil and Nina Ruth Smith Amos. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Peg Smith, and is survived by his brother Ken Amos, and sister Ruth Dennis-Collins.
Virgil graduated from Parkersburg South High School. He worked in the Brick Layers Union and later became self-employed. He was an accomplished carpenter, craftsman, skilled marksman and avid outdoorsman. Virgil enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and time with family and friends.
He married Pamela Carol Metts Amos in 1980 and they purchased a farm in Belleville.
Their union was blessed with seven children and twenty-five grandchildren, Daisy Miracl (Cody Miracl) of Montana and their children, Hayley Kirby, Jacob Kirby, Levi Kirby, Ethan Miracl, Bryan Miracl, Bryson Miracl, Rowan Miracl; Josh Amos of West Virginia and his children, William Amos, Wyatt Amos, Lorna Amos; Lilly Schenk (Steven Schenk) of Montana and their children, Taven Schenk, Sierra Schenk, Austen Schenk, Rozella Schenk; Holly Vreugdenhil (Austin Vreugdenhil) of Montana and their children, Eric Haus, Garrett Haus, Alex Haus, Xavier Vreugdenhil; William Virgil Amos of Montana and his children, Roman Amos, Rain Amos, Landen Amos; Rose Roberts (Benny Roberts) of South Dakota and their children, Zoe Roberts, Violet Roberts, Sky Roberts, Eli Roberts; and Jay Amos of Montana.
In keeping with Virgil’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or service.
