Dorothy J. Mills

Dorothy J. Mills, 88, of Parkersburg, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Eagle Pointe Healthcare Center.

She was born in Ryan, Roane County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Herman “Lonnie” and Gatha Rhodes Westfall.

Dorothy enjoyed tole painting and quilting. She used her beautiful talent to make unique gifts and quilts for family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Marlene Carr (Michael), Marvin Mills (Pam), Myron Mills (Angie), and Melvin Mills (Michelle); sisters, Betty Mills (Waide) and Barb Fields (Charles); sister-in-law, Zana Gemmer; six grandchildren, Mindy Eaton (Jarrod), Maynard Mills, Christopher Kimes, Zach Mills (Courtney), Mitchell Mills (Sara), and Barb Whipkey (Matt); great-grandchildren, Chelsy, Walker (Grace), Wyatt, Cole, Leah, Chevelle, and Stella; one great-great-grandchild on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Alvin Mills and several sisters and one brother.

A private graveside service will be conducted at Evergreen South Cemetery with Pastor Eric Nielson officiating.
